Airfield vehicle seat?

Here’s a good one…

When I was about 15 I went for a wander around the old RAF Bibury site and remembered seeing a metal bucket type seat dumped near the firing butts. This weekend, 18 years on, my father and I went for an early morning wander around the same site and lo and behold, I remembered the seat and managed to find it again.

Now older and wiser I’m sure this is definately not an aircraft seat but my father thought it might be from an Austin Gypsy or possible an RAF vehicle.

Does anyone in this area have any expertise and might be able to identify it? More for my own curiosity rather than a restore to fly project 😉
