Airfields in Preservation

Does anyone know of any airfields that are preserved or are in the pipeline to being preserved. I know about Duxford, but are there any other airfield I can visit? I hear someone from Yorkshire is trying to preserve Church Fenton and other chap is trying to save Driffield. Are there any other persons doing their bit?

The most obvious one to date is where the Fire Tenders were kept, the Bellmans are still there but one has been “extended” in length.
Biggest loss to date was the Ops Board (which was painted onto a wall and still held chalk written info on it), well, its still there but it has been painted over.
Best kept secret at Drem is the wonderful old mural dating from WW1 which the present owners of the building (used for making Jams etc), painted round.
Suggest you type in “RAF Drem” where there is a web site and it has present day pictures of what is still there.

So which buildings have recently been demolished at Drem then Drem? Its years since I went there but I recall an impressive collection of Bellman hangars in reasonable condition….are they still extant?

Also was Darlingfield a WW2 site or an earlier or later civil landing ground? Not sure I’ve heard of this one before.

If I were to do my bit, it would be (here anyway), Drem (where a few buildings have went “missing” of late), Macmerry and what little is left of Darlingfield.
