Airfields in the east of Scotland

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-02-02 AT 08:02 PM (GMT)]No doubt a lot of you may have heard about DREM as a fighter base because 602 city of Glasgow and 603 city of Edinburgh both used this as their base for a while. I would like to know if any of you out there have any pictures of the following Airfields at any period of time.here is the list.

DREM EAST FORTUNE MACMERRY LENNOXLOVE TURNHOUSE KIRKNEWTON GRANGEMOUTH CRAIL

all these are RAF with the exception of Crail it was a FAA field

some of the others were shared with the RAF / FAA.

I would like to see pictures of any of these even if I cant publish them on the internet I would like to see the pictures anyway as I try to keep an archive of any thing local.

I would also like information on the airfields also. I already have the usual Action stations book to help me but would like any additional info.

Also can any one provide a brief history on 602 city of Glasgow squadron I already have a brief history of 603 on my website.

check the website out to get an idea of what I have already done.

I have added a picture of the Edinburgh flying clubs early days.

regards Scott

Hi Merlin,
I’ve had a look at your web site & I think it’s very good.

Best wishes,
