I just returned from my semi-annual visit to the hobby store to see what’s new and the reboxed 144 Airfix 727 in Air Canada colours caught my eye.
It’s nice the firm is hiring sight-challenged artists these days for their computer generated art….the windscreen on the box art looks nothing like the Boeing. 🙂 Really, I ‘ve seen better work on old Soviet-era kit boxes.
The 737 look fine. BTW: Do you think Airfix could update the 737?
The 200 is just about extinct. How about retooling for a 500 with the newer engines? By making it a 500, they could reuse the 200 fuselage, but they would have to add the dorsal fin.

My point was that id Airfix were trying to do “good enough”, they could update the 200 rather inexpensively.
I do wish they’d update/replace some of their kits…the things are older than I am.

The -500 fuse is close but not exactly the same length as a -200. The -500 is 1 foot 7 inches longer
I don’t think the fin is the same so just adding a dorsal to a 200 fuse would be totally incorrect.
I guess the wing root fairings would be very different to.
