Has anyone else used any of the “Airline” simulation gamey type things?
http://www.airlinesimulation.com/homeindex.htm
See it regularly advertised in UK magazines, I’ve just purchased the download key for the latest one, which is out on Friday and am looking forward to creating my very own airline:D.

i have airline 6 and think it is a great game!
i have a few tips:-
When you start an airline base it anywhere(my main place is nyc/jfk)
Then lease 5 to 8 narrowbody aircraft
Launch around 12 routes with them (but only ones with a demand more than 15000 as you will have no shortage on pax)
Then quater by quater add new routes and you will have a good buisness.
When you get to create a subsidery do so. and launch it the other side of the globe then you dont interfear with your main network
Hope these tips helped you a little

Sorry mate, I never registered my copy, as I was only suppose to borrow it from a friend, but he never asked for it back as he got Version 6! Now that I have lent the same copy to another friend, who is yet to give it back, I cant access anything! Sorry.

Any chance you can have a look in the official forums (my username was deleted when I got my refund) to see how 6.2 is getting on in terms of the new patches etc.
By: cloud_9 - 30th June 2006 at 14:17
Which version do you own though.
I’ve been reading about the latest version (6.2) which is now on its 5th or 6th patch!!!
I use to own version 5, but I lent it to a friend who has yet to give it me back…damn it! I have only played on my friends version of version 6 though, so not spent as much time on that one as I have the other.

Airline 6 is a excellent game, especially for those that can only dream of owning an airline (like myself!). I love it cause it allows you to experiment with so many different options.
I have the game and making money isn’t as easy as it looks. I have had the game for a fortnight now and set up various airlines and got nowhere (except bankruptcy) 🙁 . So if anyone has any tips etc.. please post!!
AJ
Your right about it being difficult to make money, but it does depend on your business plan that you have to submitt before hand, don’t try anything too ambitious to begin with, start off small, and gradually expand… I started off a domestic airline from Manston (MSE) using Boeing 737’s, then expanded to into European market and eventually grew it into a large airline that served New York and Orlando on Boeing 747’s!
A couple of tips I learnt from a friend was to use a country that only has one main airport, for example, Singapore. And also pay your management staff quite a high wage (much more than market average!) because then you will not have to worry about constantly increasing their salaries, and their ‘effectiveness’ should be 100% cos they are being paid a handsome wage!
Hope this helps, and Murph, if you have any doubts, don’t – buy it now!

I’m now waiting, I got a refund after delay upon delay.
Looking at airlines.net (search google for airline 6.2) there are a hideous number of errors so I will hang back until I see whether this company actually survives!

Thats the one, turns out to be 27 quid. I had the last little bits of my student loan to waste hehe.
It’s released 1am UK time so my Saturday has been wiped out in terms of doing…anything else 😀

I know it doesn’t have the most exciting interface, but can you post a few screenshots when you do get it? I’d love to give it a go, but I feel that for what it is, it’s a little bit too expensive – $70 AUD isn’t it?
