Airline of the Week: Continental

Airline of the week this week is Continental. Let’s try and keep contributions down to one or two shots each, so we can really pick our best this week!

http://images.fotopic.net/?iid=yvbixb&outx=800&quality=100

I know there were a few suggestions in favour of BA World Tails. My only reason for not taking that on this week is that i didn’t know how many people would have pictures of them (i know my only shots are pre-digital). Any thoughts on this?

Remember, for future weeks we need to think of airlines that people are likely to have seen across the continents… so regional LoCos and short lived airlines aren’t really practical

Lovely picture, but definitely NOT San Diego – its taken at LAX

See the following image of mine which was taken from roughly the same place as the DC-10 above – at LAX!:

San Diego looks more like this:

All great shots there, particularly like Bristol_Robs second shot and Skymonsters shot from Las Vegas.:)

I believe LGW services have been cut to just one daily 757…

Fraid not, Continental no longer operate any services out of LGW, although I did here a rumour going around that they might (and it is just a ‘might’) be considering a daily LGW-EWR flight on a 757-200 since the airport has changed ownership, but I guess we will have to wait.

…heathrow it is for next trip!

Send me a PM if/when you know that you are…;)

The STN service was scrapped years ago. I’ve been photographing aircraft there for the last 8 years and the service was stopped before i started

Plenty of Continental sofar from an estetic point a view I like Mr Spladings 757 turning onto the (Bristol) Runway and Tenthije’s misty 767

I think we can use some more old pictures, last century even

Great pics all. Anyone got any old-skool pics, circa DC-10 era? Or any more good short-haul pics?

Perhaps not the best quality or most interesting motive, but got some good memories from this pic and that’s what matters most.

This one is more interesting motive wise.
