Airlines of the Channel Islands in the Thirties

I promised to post some De Havilland multi-engine aircraft and here they are. I believe all were taken in the thirties but the odd one may be in the early forties. There are eleven shots and here are the first six.

Glyn

1 Dragon Rapide G-AGSH of Channel Island Airways
2 Dragon Rapide G-AGPH of Guernsey and Jersey Airlines
3 Dragon 1 G-ACMC of Jersey Airways
4 Dragon 2 G-ACMP of Jersey Airways
5 Express G-ACZO of Jersey Airways
6 Flamingo G-AFUE of Guernsey and Jersey Airways

Interesting shots Ollie – I was not expecting to see these when I saw the thread title – any idea whose copyright they are?

Yes, Jersey Evening Post, though you can order copies via the web site.

Id guess at being copyright to the newspaper.

Here are a couple of pictures of G AGSH taken June 16th 1974 at Weston On The Green. She was conducting Parachute Operations that day.

Thanks Glyn. Interesting to note that G-AGSH is still airworthy in BEA livery at Bournemouth

Glyn if you are interested in Channel Island airlines and aircraft, have a look Here

There are many shot taken of the various airliners using Jersey airport, if you are prepared to trawl it’s even possible to find shots of the Battle of Britain Buchons at Jersey airport in 1967/8, especially the one that lost part of it’s tail as a result of a collision with another aircraft, and Turkish Spitfires as they transited through the airport in 1948 and plenty of other interesting shots.
