Airport garage hedon near hull

I was looking through some old stuf at a museum a while ago and came across a photo of a small biplane factory outside hull near a village called hedon, aparently they made biplanes on this site, but there is little history about this site. the factory is still there its some kind of fabrication works and the field next door which is quite big, has some old wartime buildings you would associate with an airfield but no runway to speak of, does anyone have any info on this misterious place?

From the UK Air Pilot 1934 Edition

These pages might make it a bit easier to sort out what’s actually left from the original municipal airport.

The local records office will probably have some material too.

Hi landraver – I may have a Sheffield accent, but it’s a heck of a long way from Gothenburg to Yorkshire!
Sorry, no, in fact all I know about Fort Paull is what I’ve read on here!
Thanks to you and everyone else for the birthday wishes, too.

Hedon was reportedly the first British municipal airfield, opened in 1929. Several amateur built aircraft were built there between the wars. In the period 1931-3 The Civilian Aircraft Company built the Civilian Coupe type there. Of the few constructed G-ABNT survives and is based at Biggin Hill. I would commend the book “British Built Aircraft” Vol 5 if you want to know more about the site.
