Airport Overview Photos

Just wondered whether anyone has any pointers with regards to editing airport overview shots, taken from the window of an airliner? It’s just there are severe contrast and colour problems, due to the window, the glare from the Sun, and simply how high and far away you are. Its almost impossible to identify any black or white points. The reason I ask is that I got a superb sharp overview shot of Brussels International yesterday whilst enroute to Milan, but am really struggling to even begin the process of contrast/colour correction!
