My log books are at home in the UK so was not able to join in the post on Aircraft travelled on. I also keep a seperate log of Airlines I have flown and airports/airfields visited and I wondered who might have visited the largest number of airports/airfields. I suppose its something that any working pilot would probably win hands down.

Saudi Flights home
Hello there!..Way back in 1978 I left Dhahran on a VC10(BOAC)then of course..The flight was most pleasent with ‘real’ attention from the flight staff!..It being almost the final flight of this a/c I was given a full set of toiletries, aftershave etc etc and still have them to this day!.A beautiful aircraft,so quiet for its day!.Have spent 45 years in various capacities with Bristols, Rolls and BAe..Could write a book! I still mourn over the way our politicians ’emasculated’ the British Aircraft Industry..As regards airports ..I’ve lost count, but memorable ones include Washington National(now Ronald Regan International)before the overflying restrictions of course! Also Karachi, when a Super Connie Dennis Compton was on(en route to Aussie land),had a collapsed u/c and subsequently during the repair the resident BOAC Rep was killed when the air bag suddenly vented!!That was in 1954..I reckon I should be a ‘Senior ‘member of this thread incidentally!..Frankfurt too, holds many memories want to know more..and are there any other’oldies’ out there??Surprised nobody has responed to this piece..am I alone?
