On Sunday 3 August the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop hosted a local history project (Abbots Ann in the first World War). One of the bits of local interest was the ‘Military Airship’ that forced landed in the village in 1910 due to engine failure, after which it was manhandled into a chalk pit for protection. The engine was stripped and the local engineering firm Taskers (who made traction engines at the time and the Queen Mary trailer in WW2) made a new crankshaft overnight and once fitted the airship departed.
Does anyone know which Airship this was?
