Airshow at RAF Laarbruch in early or mid-sixties

All I can remember are the Red Arrows and the noise. I must have been about five or six years old. I’ve been living near Laarbruch since those days, but I don’t really recall any major airshow happening there since. However, my memories are clearly of an airshow and according to my age then, it must have been at Laarbruch unless my memory fails. Were any of you guys there, too? Perhaps someone can shed some light on this.

Regards
Peter

I would think it was later than 1965. My Father was stationed there from 1963 to 1965 inclusive, and I as a keen schoolboy spotter would surely have remembered any displays.
All I remember about weekend flying, at Laarbruch, involved the Gliding Club, an all red Tiger Moth, and the Prentice that currently resides in the Newark Air Museum.

August 1965
Perhaps it’s the show you’re looking for.
First Red Arrows Show on RAF Laarbruch with Folland Gnat

In their first season, 1965, the Red Arrows flew 65 displays in Britain, France, Italy, Holland, Belgium and Germany, and the Team was awarded the Britannia Trophy by the Royal Aero Club in recognition of its outstanding contribution to British prestige in the field of aviation.

The first display in Germany was at RAF Laarbruch on 6 August 1965. On the following day, 7 August, there was an official display at RAF Geilenkirchen. Since then the Red Arrows have performed in Germany 170 times.
