I was sorting out the loft yesterday and found some of my old airshow pictures from the 60’s. These were taken by me as a kid using an Ilford Sporti 4, so the quality isn’t good.
These are some of the more interesting ones, the Lancaster is at Waddington in 1965, it didn’t fly but peering at the scanned image I realise that it’s PA474 without nose and upper turrets.
The BF-109 was taken at Finningley in 1966, I seem to recall that it had been restored by their own mechs and was in flying condition but without paperwork, was this aircraft eventually to become Black 6.
The P-47 was taken at Hucknall in 1963, it did fly in the display, what happened to it, is it still flying in the US.
I just like the Voodoo/F-100 formation though the picture is crap, Waddington 1964.
I also found some more of those Luftwaffe pictures that I posted a few weeks ago if anyone is interested.

RAF Gaydon BoB 1968…
…but it might be 1969.
This is all that I wanted to see.

Please use the BF-109 picture, I actually have a colour slide of the P-47 taken on the same day, my problem is transferring it to this medium.

The Bf 109 is imho the Bf 109 G-2 “black 6” Werknummer 10639.

There was a thread on this very event in June last year, when British Cannuck posted some colour photos. It was agreed that this aeroplane is now in the museum at Wright-Patterson AFB. Sorry, don’t know how to post link, but the nifty search facility will find it in 3 seconds, if you put in ,say, ‘P47 Nottingham’.

The Jug must be the one restored by Republic Aircraft and flown for a short time before being donated to the Air Force Museum. Very interesting photos!

Thanks for putting these on Pete, this is the sort of thing this forum is all about.
I for one, would rather look at and read about these photos, than read all the other banal trivia, about polls and where should they all the photos be.
Keep em coming Pete, you’ve got one interested reader here. Thanks again.
