I am trying to obtain information, in particular the names of the crew who were lost when Airspeed Oxford P6811 out of RAF College, Cranwell, collided with one of the Daventry radio transmitter masts on 15th August 1941. This is recorded in Michael L Gibson’s book, Aviation in Northamptonshire – An Illustrated History. I understand that the Oxford was on a training flight and was off track in bad weather when it hit the mast. I do not know which squadron the aircraft belonged to but I imagine it would have been an OTU.
I have made enquiries with the archivist at Cranwell but unfortunately they have been unable to help me.
If anyone can suggest a forum or other source where I might get some helpwith this, I would be very grateful.

The Form 1180 Accident Card gives the unit as RAF College.
Pilot in command is recorded as LAC W Bullock 655318. An additional name of Brown has been crossed out. Bullock is recorded as having 30 hours on type.
1 fatality recorded.

A copy of the card (which is a summary card for additional documents long since destroyed) can be obtained from RAF Museum, Hendon.
