I just received a letter from Airtime today in which they tell that the “Russian Military Aviation Direktory” will be finally published later this year !!!
“No doubt you have benn wondering when the Russian Military Aviation Direktory will be published, so we take this opportunity to bring you up to date. We are sorry for the delay but the whole endeavor has grown into a much larger project than we first anticipated. There have been significant changes impacting Russian military aviation over the past 12 months and sections of the text are being re-written to incorporate the latest data.
TWO Volumes instead of ONE
our original plan was to publish it as a single 256-page book. However, it became clear that such a book could not accomodate all of the detailed information the author has compiled, nor the sheer number of new illustrations planned for inclusion. So we will release the Russian Military Aviation Direktory in two 208-page volumes. This will do justice to the subject and enable us to deliver a truly incedible 416-page masterwork.
…
Both volumes will be available late this year.”
Vol. 1: Fighters, attackers, combat helicopters, transports and tankers.
Vol. 2: Strategic Bombers, maritime platforms, trainers, special role aircraft, airborne weapons, bases and orders of battle.
Together with overscan’s tread from today … two really outstanding good NEW’s for that day !! 😀
