Airworthy Miles Magister in Argentina

Is it well-known that there is a flying Magister in Argentina ? I happened to stumble across a video on YouTube which led me to a few photographs.

It seems to be based at St Martin, Mendoza. The forum archive did not pull up any reference- anyone know any more? Hairyplane?

It was for sale or exchange for a Chipmunk circa five years ago.

After a bit of Googling, it appears to be N3827/ LV-XSG. Can’t seem to find anything on its history or how long it’s been in Argentina.

I’ve also found some YouTube videos, including an on-board sequence. Certainly looks to be in nice original trim.

Edited to add that I’ve also found a Spanish language page about this aircraft, which I pasted onto Google Translate. 😉 It appears she was built in 1938 by Philips & Powis at Woodley, and was supplied as part of a batch to Argentina in 1946 after her wartime RAF service. She’s been with the flying club at Mendoza since 1957.
