Airworthy Rapide finds new home

U.S.-based Rapide G-AHXW has been acquired by the Historic Flight Foundation of Everett, Washington. Like the other multi seat aircraft in the collection, it will be available for experience flights. While a common ride type in the U.K., (everyone who has flown in one at Duxford raise your hands!) I’d suspect it’s the sole example of the type operating offering flights in the U.S..

The owner of the HFF, John Sessions, also operates Spitfire IX SL633, and a RAF-marked B-25D “Grumpy”.

Two years ago Sessions brought the Spitfire to a local airport’s “Neighbor Day” and it was great to see people having a chance to get close to the Spitfire…at a free event.
