Hello,
I was thinking today, how many airworthy Russian warbirds are there this side of Russia. Does anybody know, for example, if there is a Mig 3 anywhere?
Slightly random question but thought id throw it out there, see what came back.
thanks alot
Ross

We do have a Yak 3 over here now, was at Headcorn but now seems to have mooved on and has recantly been placed on the G- Reg. There is a video of it running into the fence at Headcorn after loosing its brakes on youtube:

Well, speaking from this side of the pond… there a re quite a few examples in the US that I can think of immediately…
Yak-9U (and others)
and of course the Fighter Factory’s I-15, I-16, I-153 etc. If I remember correctly, these particular a/c were restored and originally operated by the Alpine Fighter Collection at Wanaka NZ.

I know I’ve seen random photos of several.
To address the Mig 3 specifically, this Allison-powered example was just flown and belongs to the Fighter Factory in Virgina.
