Page 23 of the latest Classic Wings (issue 82) has an ad for a UK Airshow Tour featuring a photograph of a late mark Spitfire in IAF colours and bearing code letters “UM”.
See also this website and a small photograph of the same aircraft.
I’ve searched here and it may be this PR19?
Someone’s bound to know what and where it is and perhaps have some additional pics? I’m no Spitfire fanatic, but I do think it looks rather good.

That’s PS890. Got one of PS915 in 152 Sqn markings?
Duxford 9 September 2000.
This is one I suggested and drew up for the BBMF. It was applied by ARCo on completion of a major overhaul.
Mk XVIII TP298 was also painted in these basic 152 Squadron markings in the US.
They will all be covered in Volume II of the boo…

No, no, no … you can’t point the finger at CW. I’m referring to an ad with a photo, nothing more. But in googling I’ve seen something that suggested IAF to me. That is all.

Edit … this is the web page I googled and made the error. Same mark (or very similar) aircraft and similar camo.

‘UM’ code was 152 Hyderabad Sqn, “the Black Panthers”, South East Asia Command. I suspect this is what Classic Wings means. CW is a good mag, but suffers from average editing and fact verification.
Doesn’t PS915 carry 152 Sqn markings?

I’ll ask Moggy to change the thread title. I’m not quite sure why I thought this was Indian AF colours – perhaps they’re similar.
That said, it is a fine looking aeroplane (which my iPad keeps trying to spell as airplane)! Grrr.

That website photo is tiny – but are you sure it’s in IAF colours? My initial thought was that it’s Far East markings (pale and dark blue roundels) with white recognition bands on wings and tail.
Google ‘Spitfire PS890’ to see the BBMF scheme.
