Corrected as above. Al Deere’s son John, who looks like him (Or maybe like an Alfa Brera)

I went to university (OK Polytechnic) with Al Deere’s son (John).

It is uncanny how alike they look – that picture could be him as I knew him then.

I would say that is long after his time with 54 Squadron and probably in 1943 at Biggin Hill (post February) but before 15 July when he was awarded DSO.

The battledress blouses (and Deere’s rank!) give away the post-1940 date.

I recognise the other pilot. His name will probably come to me! I am fairly certain it isn’t Johnny Checketts – but I could be wrong.
