Al Gore & Sheryl Crow: Brown Party Leaders

Just goes to show you how far thease gloabal warming nuts are pushing their propaganda. Democrats are now the brown party.

Sheryl Crow says no to toilet paper

Sheryl Crow has begun a campaign to urge people to use less toilet paper in a bid to aid the environment.

The pop singer has recently toured around a series of US universities, lecturing about environmental issues with activist Laurie David.

But she has now turned her attention to the unnecessary wastage of toilet paper.

Writing on her official website she encourages people only to use “one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two or three could be required.”

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/a45604/sheryl-crow-says-no-to-toilet-paper.html?rss

For the sakes of politics they what you to: say goodbye to personal hygiene, say hello to hepatitis. Just more stinking wacko politics from the left. What next, bathroom cameras, toilet police? Do you really believe that politicians and actors are going to limit themselves to one square of toilet paper; I think is just more wacko political hypocritical grand standing.

Good post ATFS

I wonder what the energy consumption of the private homes owned by European leaders is?

Agree this is a little too far

A little far? So what is okay with you, laws mandating that people only use 1.25 sheets per bathroom visit? Just how many sheets is OK with you? 2 or 3 too many?

however, the other comments, and to call these people nuts sadly come from a country that abuses natural resources

Sounds strange coming from a country that was abusing the natural resources long before there even was a US government. You ever consider who taught us to abuse the environment?

drives round in huge cars and trucks when smaller will do

Sounds pretty strange coming from a country that practically invented the SUV for family use and exported it and the idea to the world. Range Rover/Land Rover was one of the first SUVs to be mass marketed for casual family use (not as a legitimate utility/work vehicle).

Sounds pretty strange coming from a country that set the standard for the imperial gallon (a larger measure than the US gallon).

Americans have a tendency to be larger of stature, largely because our land is so rich and productive, unlike much of the rest of the world that has exploited the environment to the point that the soil is depleted and their crops are less productive.

will not sign up to any emissions reduction programmes and produces 40% of the worlds pollution.

Sounds pretty strange coming from countries that produce and use 100% of the leaded gas. Sounds pretty strange coming from countries that still produce 100% of the worst ozone destroying fluorocarbons, and even market some of them to other countries like the US.

The fact is the US is one of the first countries to have emission laws. The fact is that the companies started reducing emissions and increasing fuel economy long before it was mandated.

If the US has such inferior technology for reducing emissions, why is there a mandate in the Kyoto protocol that insists that the US giveaway it’s technology on reducing emissions. Why does the Kyoto protocol insist that the US develop emission reducing technology for the rest of the world and give it away? If other countries are so much better at it and so much more advanced, then they should give it away. hehe

It’s good to see some higher profile people raise this issue. It’s a shame the oil revenue fed current incumbent in the Whitehouse cannot take this serious issue seriously…..

Sure right, we should listen to some of the biggest hypocrites in the world that are exploiting issues for their own personal gain, whether it be political, financial, or just attention.

The real inconvenient truth is that some of the worst people in the world are pretending to be leaders by pretending to jump on the bandwagon of environmentalism, when it is clear that they are Johnny come latelys and that they have no clue what they are talking about and are hypocrites.

Some can talk the talk but don’t bother to walk the walk. Can you
guess who lives in each house?

House 1

The four-bedroom home was planned so that “every room has a
relationship with something in the landscape that’s different from
the room next door.
Each of the rooms feels like a slightly different place.” The
resulting single-story house is a paragon of environmental planning.

The passive-solar house is built of honey-colored native limestone
and positioned to absorb winter sunlight, warming the interior
walkways and walls of the 4,000-square-foot residence. Geothermal
heat pumps circulate water through pipes buried 300 feet deep in the
ground.

These waters pass through a heat exchange system that keeps the home
warm in winter and cool in summer. A 25,000-gallon underground cistern
collects rainwater gathered from roof urns; wastewater from sinks,
toilets, and showers cascades into underground purifying tanks and is
also funneled into the cistern.

The water from the cistern is then used to irrigate the landscaping
around the four-bedroom home, (which) uses indigenous grasses,
shrubs, and flowers to complete the exterior treatment of the home.
In addition to its minimal environmental impact, the look and layout
of the house reflect one of the
paramount priorities: relaxation.

A spacious 10-foot porch wraps completely around the residence and
beckons the family outdoors. With few hallways to speak of, family
and guests make their way from room to room either directly or by way
of the porch. “The house doesn’t hold you in Where the porch ends,
there is grass. There is no step-up
at all.”

This house consumes 25% of the energy of an average American home.
(Source: Cowboys and Indians Magazine, Oct. 2002 and Chicago Tribune
April 2001.)

House 2

This 20-room, 8-bathroom house consumes more electricity every month
than the average American household uses in an entire year. The average
household in America consumes 10,656 kilo watt-hours (kWh) per
year, according to the Department of Energy.

In 2006, this house devoured nearly 221,000 kWh, more than 20 times
the national average. Last August alone, the house burned through
22,619 kWh,
guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average
American family uses in an entire year.

As a result of this energy consumption, the average monthly electric
bill topped $1,359. Also, natural gas bills for this house and guest
house averaged $1,080 per month last year. In total, this house had
nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for
2006. (Source: just about anywhere in the news last month online and
on talk radio, but barely on TV.)

*House 1 belongs to George and Laura Bush, in Crawford, Texas.

House 2 belongs to Al and Tipper Gore in Nashville,Tennessee.

I cannot vouch for the alleged data in that quote. Whether or not the actual figures are true or not, the premise seems to be authentic. I think it may be a tale based on the real inconvenient truth.

What this actually shows is the difference in the two mens approach to the problem.

Al Gore believes that government programs are the answer and wants the government to use its power to force you and me and everyone else to do what he believes must be done (the fact that he will probably profit from this is also a consideration).

George Bush believes that government programs are not the answer and result in a loss of freedom. He believes that individual free choice with regard to environmental issues will result in the best solution, and the role of government is to provide the widest possible choice (as an example, providing incentives for alternative energy sources).

I think it is hypocrisy that people live in mansions tell us that we waste energy for home uses, when they themselves use several times more than we do. In some cases their hypocrisy is so bad that they use more energy in their home in one month, then the typical homeowner uses in an entire year.

I think it is hypocrisy that people that drive Hummers and that have chauffeurs drive them around in humongous bulletproof armored limousines that get less than 5 miles a gallon, tell us that our vehicles are too big and use too much fuel.

I think it is hypocrisy that people that have more houses and more cars then household members, tell people that have much less that they are consuming too much.

A lot of these environmentalists wackos are Sociopaths, that are exploiting using fear mongering and environmentalism as a springboard to line their own pockets so they can get more of the very things that they are campaigning against.

So I should be inspired by Al Gore that claims to be able to predict the weather a decade advance; when highly trained meteorologists cannot even accurately predict the weather a couple weeks in advance?

Over five years ago Al Gore allegedly claimed something to the effect; that it would be 10 years before the world crossed the point of no return to extinction for mankind. So that means according to Al Gore, we have less than five years before we cross the tipping point.

The fact is by burning hydrocarbons like oil we might be diminishing the threat of a mass extinction. If we were to find a way harvest the “methane ice” that is stored under the ocean and other forms of methane and burn it at a conservative rate, we can further reduce the risk of mass extinction.

The fact is the oil and the methane are natural and will eventually reach the atmosphere and will almost certainly cause a mass extinction if we don’t use it at a conservatively moderate rate.

The last moderate meteor strike of the earth’s crust released enough greenhouse gases in one event, that exceeded over 300 times of the maximum amount of man-made greenhouse gases released in one year.
(Let me put it another way; the last time a moderate size meteor struck the earth’s crust, the amount of green house gases that was released from the resulting releasing & burning oil and methane, ect… released more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere in less the one year; then 300 over years at the rate greenhouse gasses are being put into the air now by man.)

The oil and methane is the equivalent of a greenhouse bomb, do we allow the environment to slightly warm so it is slowly dissipate the heat, or do we let it releases suddenly in a catastrophic event that would cause massive sudden extinctions, like the one that killed the dinosaurs and most other life?

Like they say, history as a way of repeating itself. If you don’t learn from history you, are doomed to repeat it.

It is ridiculous that shallow people like Al Gore and his followers that are using pseudoscience to further themselves and exploit people and the environment. When they really should be trying to actually save the environment. The problem is most of these people have such an infantile shallow understanding of science, that they actually believe their own lies.

According to environmental wackos alcohol is environmentally friendly. Alcohol is a good alternative renewable energy source and can be helpful in small quantities however it still contributes to the greenhouse gases and is very harmful smog component. Alcohol makes more smog then gasoline.

This post just scratches the surface.

This should have been posted on April 1st as she now claims it was a joke. Maybe the adverse publicity has made it into a joke.:D

If it really was a joke, how come she defended her statement at first? How come she didn’t admit it was a joke until long after she defended her statements? If she is now claiming it was a joke, I would be suspicious she is now embarrassed by her statement and is now using the joke claim as a cover story.;)

… come from a country that abuses natural resources, drives round in huge cars and trucks when smaller will do, …..

Have you seen any current American cars?
Your stereotypes are out of date.
Most states have manditory pollution tests for cars…you don’t see many bangers on the roads. Unleaded fule has benn mandatory here for 30 + years, and one reason nwhy Engish cars weren’t sold here in the 80s and 90s is they could not meet federal requirements.
There are a lot of trucks, but most work for their keep.

My wife drives a Mini Cooper, I have a very efficient Mercedes CLK.
I will gladly admit to having a huge (7 liter) truck. Why? To tow my antique car and trailer combination. I only drive the truck when I need to do a job and in the winter when I need to keep the CLK in the garage.

Maybe she could use just 2 strings on her guitar instead of six?
