Albanian Airlines at Robin Hood Doncaster 14/11/09

Thought I would share these. First time at attempting night photography but could not miss this. Albanian Airlines B757 F-GTIP diverted into Doncaster from Leeds Bradford. Shame it was plain white but at least it was a first for Doncaster. Apparently refused permission to land at LBA as they could not confirm payment for fuel. Held for quite a while over Doncaster at 7000ft until it was confirmed they could pay here. Refuelled then transitted back to LBA.
Hope you like
Cheers
Stu

Yeah it must be at least 3 days since i last saw 5 or 6 Wizzairs 😉
not to mention i’ll be flying in on 1.
I wont bother investing in ladders cos i’m only there for a few days. Thanks for the directions i’m fairly familiar with Finningley, worked there a lot and got a few mates living there.Maybe i’ll get in touch and we can meet up,I feel a pint in the Harvey coming on.

Let me know your contact details when you arrive. Will try to meet up.
Safe journey
cheers

Great pics mate,i’m heading to Doncaster next week and was wondering if its worth going for some night shots. Is there anywhere you can see the apron from landside?

There are few places around the airport for spotting/photography. A favourite for both is to enter the village of Finningley. Turn off the main road opposite the duckpond and go passed the pub (Harvey Arms). Continue down this road until you can see through the fencing. Here you will be straight opposite the terminal. You will be shooting through the fence. Ladders would be a good investment. Unless something unusual turns up you will only see Thomson 737, and something that will be exciting for you Wizzair!!!

The above photographs were taken near the police/security offices and you would be asked to leave fairly quickly. Luckily I am now fairly well known now and am usually left alone. Hope this helps. If you need anymore info you are welcome to pm me.
Cheers

Nice shots Stu. First 757 into Doncaster..just a shame it’s all white as you say, Drove past there today, but never bothered to pop in.. too busy.

Thankyou all for the comments. If he ran out of fuel he could have had clearance into our garden. One hell of a garden ornament.

Scotty
thanks for the comment. What I should have put was that it was the first Albanian Airlines into Doncaster. We do, believe it or not, get various 757’s occasionally. Wish we had more though.
Cheers mate

Nice catch. It does pose a question though, what would have happened if he’d ran out of fuel while his VISA card was being checked :diablo: .
No way to run an airline.
