The World War I Aviation Heritage trust have announced that an Albatros DVa, from Oliver Wulff’s collection and a Sopwith Snipe will be arriving in the UK sometime this Spring for events and airshows.
A “provisional programme includes appearances at 8 Squadron’s Centenary at Waddington, Abingdon, Bicester Heritage (for several events), Chalke Valley, Old Warden, RIAT and The Goodwood Revival at the end of the event season.”

Interesting about Humber in the RAFM Snipe. Did anyone ever check the engine makers plate on Snipe E8102, that’s ZK-SBT & N6318S of the Weeks collection.

Humber Ltd. of Coventry built BR.1 and BR.2 engines – in fact the BR.2 in the RAFM Snipe has a Humber plate on it.

If you check out the Wahts website the shift of those aircraft to Bicester might be permanent.
On something different. On the Snipe ZK-SNI, the Bentley engine has a Gwynnes Ltd makers plate. Did Gwynnes make all the BR2 engines?

I haven’t been there since November, but they were I believe in the process of putting another hangar up.

That DH-4 looks amazing! The attention to detail in these reproductions is incredible! Am I right in thinking that the BE.12 is the single seat version of the BE.2?

Having an original to work off is much preferred. I did manage a peek at the new De Havilland America DH-4, and B.E.12 (and new B.E.2c a couple along in the Flickr set linked)

Thanks ErrolC (and Stan Smith for the humour) a reproduction, running BR.2 will look the same as a real one and, presumably, will sound the same.
I am in awe of what has gone on in New Zealand and am hoping to get the book to ‘read all abaaht it’ before too long.
Never have so few brought so much pleasure to so many in such a short time.

Especially if it has got a Bentley BR.2 hauling it along – anybody know what engine it has?
Of the two Snipes currently registered to TVAL in NZ, ZK-SNI (“F2367”) has an original BR.2, while ZK-SBY (above) has a TVAL new-build BR.2. If the “planned for a Sopwith Snipe to come over from NZ with the Albatros” machine is a currently unknown one (and we are watching the NZ register especially carefully), a new-build BR.2 seems most likely.
