At Shuttleworth on Sunday it was said that they would be at Old Warden on the 22nd Sept but they would also be appearing at Duxford on the 8th & 9th (rumour rumour – check before going!)

When someone said that the hedge ‘had been clipped on a few occassions’, I thought that Compo had brought his shears to get rid of the tall bits for a better view.

He reminds me of Compo (Bill Owen RIP) from Last of the summer wine, but without the woolly hat 😀

The Shuttleworth Uncovered page on the website shows the poster with a photo of the pair quoting ‘See the Albatros and RE.8’. Its not yet stated if that is flying or static so take from that what you will.

This pillock spent the show perched on a ladder right under the approach to the runway. This hedge has been clipped on a few occasions, it’s simply not somewhere to freeload from.

Isn’t that a Privet Investigator or is he just hedging his bets?

I did mention to the other Royal Flying Corps chappies I was with that the two Hawker biplanes running up would have made things interesting for anyone behind the hedge!

Absolutely superb display, really was incredible to see the RE8 airborne. After being made redundant a week and a bit ago I was feeling absolutely fed up of aviation, funny how that quickly went away once I drove past Old Warden on my way in and saw all those lovely PC10 wings…

Looks like a professional free-loader to me.

Not sure he is a quite a Shuttleworth kind of person anyway.

The fellow could certainly use a shave.

Yes, I saw that ‘individual’ still on his ladder at 19.00hrs when I went up the lane.
I noticed too that he had a high-viz on with something about a French airshow and airport printed on it.
I believe he’d been there since quite early in the morning too.

Looks like a professional free-loader to me.

Don’t worry, it is obviously not a safely concern as he is clearly wearing a hi-viz thingy, thus making him completely impervious to falling aeroplanes and any other safety hazards.

Were you actually at the show today or were you looking over the fence??

what is the truth with these two planes please

What do you mean by this?

The two aeroplanes were built by The Vintage Aviator Ltd in New Zealand and are destined for The Royal Air Force Museum at hendon.
Just for a short while they are being flown at a couple of airshows after being assenbled at Old Warden.
Today at Old Warden and next weekend at Duxford.

Displayed at Old Warden today. Alright I suppose  but nicely timed for about the only time the sun managed to peek through the clouds.

Best visual gag of the day – Stu Goldspink sporting a pony tail 😀

Is it known if they will be displayed in the air again – ie “Shuttleworth Uncovered” display on 22nd September?

Or are the two dates (today and next Sunday) it, finito!
