Albatross/Seagull tank cap

Someone has passed me this as they thought the emblem was an albatross and hence aviation.

Does anyone recognise the emblem as aviation ?

Otherwise I will seek out marine/automotive enthusiasts.

Interestingly the inside of the cap is copper lined.

Hence I assume the tin in the brass reacts with whatever was in the tank.
