Okay, if JDK hasn’t worn your brain cells out, try something different:
1) What is this aircraft?
2) Where and when was it taken?
3) What is the serial?

bazrac the frenchverticial test aircraft may spelling is wrong but right aircraft lol dragline
Yes, I know what you mean. I actually think it is a cross between the Dassault Balzac and Fairey Delta 2.

In that case, if my friend Google is to be believed, Biggin Hill.
Correct! It was taken in the static park at Biggin Hill’s BoB Air Day 19th September 1964 and here is all the rest of the gen you’re all dying to know!
It was built of plywood and wood and powered by no more than a 500cc motorcycle engine to enable it to taxi. When it was hovering, it was suspended on wires (‘Fly-by-wire’ 😀 ) from a crane. You can just about see the wires in this pic.

I guess Northolt.
BTW, as I may have mentioned before, Google is my friend. 😀
Nope – it’s at an air show! Don’t think Northolt have ever had an ‘air show’ as such?

Well done, Don Clark is the winner! Indeed it is the sole Scott-Furlong Predator, XS341.
Once the serial is revealed, it’s all downhill as everyone rushes to the reference books! Now just one more question, where and when was this taken?
By: ALBERT ROSS - 11th September 2005 at 00:04
Sovereign – XS341
Getting very close! Sovereign was an airliner made by the same company, but serial is correct for this one. What was the manufacturer and the name of this aircraft.

About 1962-3, I cant wait to see the full image, I have a b/w photo of this in my collection taken by Brian Stainer. Would the location be Northolt.

Its not Handley Page per chance?
By: ALBERT ROSS - 10th September 2005 at 23:23
Well done Septic, you’re right, but what was it’s name and what year was it? Also where could this have been taken?
By: ALBERT ROSS - 10th September 2005 at 23:20
Fairy Delta?
Nope! Look at the second photo clue? Intakes above fuselage and undercarriage leg underneath fuselage.
Ooooh, this is going to be tricky! Another clue, you would have to be British and at least 40 to have seen this?

Albert,
Fly by Wire indeed, I can’t remember its name but wasn’t this the aircraft built for a certain TV series called the Plane Makers/ Power Game.

Don’t think so, two of them were built too, boy this is a tough one

Fairy Delta?
By: Manonthefence - 10th September 2005 at 22:52
Damn, I knew I was going wrong somewhere with my pan-frame-focus-and shoot technique for 40 years!!!
As long as you realise that 😉
By: Rlangham - 10th September 2005 at 22:50
That’s what i thought, two were built and as far as i know it wasn’t a VTOL aircraft. Does look identical to it though, and i’m completely stumped as to what else it may be!
By: ALBERT ROSS - 10th September 2005 at 22:50
How about the SR.53.
But if it is the SR.53 why isn’t it white and weren’t two built.
Septic.
You’ve answered your own question here? It’s not the SR-53 because BOTH of them were white(there were two of them) and it has nothing to do with ‘fly-by-wire’ technology. Here’s another section of it:
