And whilst we’re on the theme of pedantry, it’s not an ‘Islander’ either…:D

Did the RAF ever use them actually ???

Thats an islander, Defenders look like this 😉 http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1140905/L/

The CAA officially call them Islanders as well, not Defenders.

I have two down as belonging to the RAF and not the AAC, ZF573 and ZH536 but I think they are the type of aircraft that don’t actualy exist if you get my drift… 😉

I think it is kown as a Defender, however I have just spoken to a pal who is AAC and they call them Islanders…! This machine is one of two based at Aldergrove used for survellance work. Funnily enough I was at Heathrow today and I saw one litterally hovering over the city and high altitude, managed to get a shot of it…will post when I can get my computer to recognise my memory cards:(
