RE: Alexander The Great

I read about this,it seems like a good idea to encourage tourism to the region. The sculpture seems a great way to honour a great Greek. It should also give the Makedonian region of Greece a better identity as it normally seems over shadowed by the country Macedonia to the north, when people think of that area.

RE: Alexander The Great

I would have thought the Greeks would have been better building a monument to Thomas Cook.

RE: Alexander The Great

I think it’s really tasteful. Mount Rushmore is of course absolutely beautiful (any news on the plans of carving Reagan next to it?), the Soviets carved a nice Lenin in the mountains on the Crimea, and it took the Albanians seven flights of napalm-dropping J-6es to finally scorch the mountains in which they carved out the name of Enver Hoxha in 10-meter high characters…

And while we’re at it, i think the Western coastline of Turkey should be altered to give it the shape of Atatürk, a giant statue of Mao Zedong should be placed on top of the Mount Everest, and the ice on the South Pole should be painted with massive amounts of black dye to spell ‘Margaret Thatcher’, big enough to make it readable from a 6000km orbit.

Want more? What about adding red dye to the water in the Three Gorges Dam in China to symbolise the victory of Maoism over nature? Painting the Saudi Desert green for it’s the color of Islam?

Yeah, it’s a good idea. Be creative with nature, enhance it where possible 😛
