The Coventry Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society have a lecture coming up that might be of interest to anyone keen on the Spitfire (well I guess that’s about 99% of you).
David Faddy (son of Alf Faddy) is giving a talk entitled “Alf Faddy – A Forgotten Spitfire Designer”.
I understand David Faddy has only given such a talk about his father’s involvement in the design of the Spitfire (wing I think) once before so a rare opportunity.
9th December 19.30hrs at CCL.3, The Technocentre, Coventry University Technology Park, Puma Way, Coventry, CV1 2TT (the site of the old Armstrong Siddeley Parkside factory).
There is a modest charge (£2 I think) for non-members.

If the light conditions allow I will take notes (as I usually do) and type out at some stage. If I get that far can send you a copy.

It would be wonderful if a transcript of the lecture was available. I very much enjoy reading about aircraft designers.
Regrettably I won’t be attending (frozen solid in Winnipeg:eek:)
