All Nippon orders 747-400F

US plane maker Boeing said Monday it received an order from Nippon Cargo Airlines for three 747-400 freighters to be delivered beginning in 2005.
Boeing said the order is worth USD$600 million at list prices. The new planes will replace part of Nippon’s fleet of 10 747-200 freighters and one 747-100 freighter.

Both NCA and Boeing have alerady said that B747-400Fs where ordered, and not B747-400ERFs. I can believe that NCA would not specify ER on their website, but Boeing would! Boeing would definately tell when they sell a 744ER because it is not the most succesful of planes. It can use any good news there is.

Ah yes, but be careful, somtimes they only mention it is a 400F
That is not to say it IS just the 400F.

In this case is probably is, but the possibility is there.

Besides, NCA seems to be quite happy with the range of their current fleet of 742Fs. The 744F already has more range so the added range over the 744F of the 744ERF is not necessary.

My bet is the 747-400F-ER.

It makes sense, more range and only 50 cubic feet of cargo space lost.

Heres a range chart

KLM said Tuesday its cargo unit will take delivery of the last of three new Boeings 747-400 Extended Range Freighters it had ordered from the US plane maker.
The two other four-engine planes from Boeing were delivered last year.
KLM, which is in the process of merging with Air France, said the new aircraft would be used on routes to and from the Far East, including Singapore, Hong Kong and Osaka.
“They (the new planes) increase the efficiency and flexibility of the KLM fleet operation, thereby lowering unit costs,” the Dutch group said in a statement.

Is it the ER or non-ER version?
