RE: All time favourite Movie???
Hi Dazza,
Nope, you didn’t mix them up, Day of the Dead was the one set in the army base. It’s just I’ve always thought that Dawn of the Dead (set in the shopping mall) was the better movie. Helicopter blades CAN be dangerous 😉
What did you think of Return of the Living Dead? Love the scene with the comment “Open the door, I’ll knock his freakin’ block off” 😀
Cheers,
James

Production mate, production. Recreating the Titanic inch for near inch to 80% full scale and everything that went into it, including getting the same company that made the original crockery to do it again! And then, sinking it all in the world’s biggest man-made tank. At $300 million, it ranks up there with the best in terms of production.
Regards, Glenn.

RE: All time favourite Movie???
Its called “The show must go on” … i assume you also liked man in tights..
Glenn How can you even compare the TITANIC and the Ben Hur… I dont know what the morans in hollywood were thinking when they gave that piece of crap 11 oscars.. I my mind any move that is a remake on another movie.. (and yes there were so many bloody titanic movies before.. including one which won OSCAR in 1937..) is unoriginal piece of crap and should be banned by law.

I might have them mixed up Jim, the one I’m referring to is the one where they are underground with army officers, and a scientist befriends one of them and calls him ‘Bub’. Very gruesome.

This has to be one of the real toughies in life to answer! Every time you think you’ve settled on the consumate “good” film another one pops up in your mind equally as good!.
I tend to enjoy films with original or intelligent plotlines, the movie equivalent of a Tom Clancy novel so-to-speak, for that reason I’d have to agree that Terminator was a classic film, The Matrix similarly so and, for one of the best simple stories in a film, I’d have to rate Contact very, very highly.
For my all time favourite though I’d have to spin a coin between The Italian Job and 2001 as I dont think I could seperate the two!.
Cheers,
Steve

RE: All time favourite Movie???
Titanic, while not brilliant script wise would have to win the global honour for production! Next to Ben Hur of course.

RE: All time favourite Movie???
I also love both American Pie films, don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much as when watching the first one.
Scream was good when I first saw that, kept you guessing all the way through the film.
I liked Titanic – what facts were so wriong in that? OK the love story was completely made up but the rest was spot on.
I also like You’ve got Mail, great film.

RE: All time favourite Movie???
Glenn,
Oh yeah. Cameron’s films were a non-stop parade of quality from The Terminator onwards.
Then came Titanic. 🙁
Ah, never mind, it was still better than Pearl Harbor. Which is scary.

RadiO,
So I take it you are a James Cameron fan then? I am an all time Aliens fan, that film is one of my top ten for sure, the special edition is of course the best cut. 🙂

RE: All time favourite Movie???
Aliens – All-time classic. Alien is of course a classic, but this film… is fantastic in a completely different way. As a big plus it has some of the best production design ever; none of the Colonial Marines’ equipment has really dated visually or in concept over the years, and of course, there’s the Dropship. I want a Dropship!
There is honestly nothing – nothing – bad about Aliens. It’s all good.
Get Carter – the 1971 original, not the pointless Stallone remake. It’s so nasty that you end up feeling sorry for the villains; they’re a bunch of murderers, gangsters, pornographers and drug addicts, but they’re still not as bad-to-the-bone as “hero” Jack Carter (Michael Caine!), who is utterly satanic.
The Abyss – All time classic. Why this has always got lukewarm reviews baffles me.
