The USAF and Marine corps legacy fleet is falling apart at moment so any older airframes are being scrapped for parts to keep the forces up to spec.

2005, so quite a while ago. Surprised the images haven’t surfaced before now.
Probably had to be done as a condition of the sale of these US-built aircraft to a foreign air force. It still hurts, though. To see such high-tech and pretty machines reduced to rubble in the crudest of ways. 🙁
Anon.
Those F-16s had been available for sale for sometime. No buyer could be found and they were reduced for spares. See following.
At Rocourt, the aircraft are carefully dismantled and all valuable parts are recorded and packed. A limited number of parts is recovered by the Belgian Air Force for the maintenance of its operational fleet. The rest will be sold by batches to dealers, technical schools and scrapyards.

Yes the A-6 Intruders became an artificial reef.

A-6 Intruders indeed. I remember that image, I think they were dumped in the ocean somewhere to form an artificial reef.

Came across this image, anyone know the aircraft type? Could this be classed as an aircraft carrier?
