Hello everybody,
My fourth post here, but I think I have a little site anyone interested in small or landlocked navies will appreciate:
http://fab-extraoficial.webcindario.com/FNB/FNBindex.htm
What will you find there?
1. – HISTORY ( http://fab-extraoficial.webcindario.com/FNB/FNBhistoria.htm )
Why does Bolivia have a Navy? ’cause we had a seacoast! Since colonial days until 1879-1904 when our friendly neighbors to the west took a liking for it….
Then it turned into a brown water navy, it was present in the Acre War with Brazil, the Manuripi Campaign with Peru, the Chaco War with Paraguay, a Marines Battalion even participated in the Nancahuazu Campaign against Che Guevara! Nowadays the missions are a little different.
2.- ORGANIZATION http://fab-Extraoficial.webcindario.com/FNB/FNBorganizacion.htm
Territorial and otherwise, it’s all here.
3.- THE FLEET http://fab-extraoficial.webcindario.com/FNB/FNBequipo.htm
Did you know we operated sea-going vessels with no other than Hapag-Lloyd? Do you want to know how many PBR’s or Piraña fast attack craft do we have? Check out the “Navios” section.
4.- NAVAL AVIATION, http://fab-extraoficial.webcindario.com/FNB/FNBaviacion.htm
Yes, it may be a token force but it’s there.
5.- SPECIAL FORCES, http://fab-extraoficial.webcindario.com/FNB/FNBunidadesespeciales.htm
Ever heard or the Diablos Azules counter-narcottics troops, maybe. Ever heard of the Grupo de Reacción Inmediata Naval? Probably not, they are about 20 folks trained by the USN SEALS.
6.- MARINE INFANTRY http://fab-extraoficial.webcindario.com/FNB/FNBinfdemar.htm
7 battalions, specializes in riverine operations, this branch participated in UNITAS.
And there’s much more,
Jonathan Olguin

PS: As a bonus “to this forum only” I’ll be fielding questions and sarcastic commentary from you all. 😎

I’ve been interested in the history, politics, and development of the Bolivia-Peru-Chile-Gran Chaco area for some time. Thanks for this nice site.
The only problem is it has been 27 years since my high-school Spanish classes.
Is there a good way to get a translation? (I don’t count the Babelfish translating program as “good”.)
