Hey All, Especially Martin:
Would be nice to hear some more from you on the exciting adventures over at AlphaOne.
I wouldn’t mind getting back in touch with you, after a long period between Elation Airways and now your real airline!!
How long have we got before we see the Jetstreams airbourne!! 🙂

Initially they werent going to have their own AOC, hence the late May launch initially announced
By: Dan05 - 12th May 2005 at 14:43
Considering they where going for their own AOC, then said they would launch at the end of May, that was incredibly pre-mature, since an AOC application can take upto 6 months. So It’s no wonder that they are not launching this month, just give it time for all the paperwork to be done.

How about you cynics get off your behinds and go and show us how to start up an airline as it should be done then! in stead of putting down those with the balls to try
I’m with Mr Richardson with this one

The much-heralded launch, followed by the postponement and collapse of the website, the subsequent claim that services would start before the end of May, and now no firm commitment on when services will actually start do not inspire confidence. In fact, on the face of it, it would be reasonable to suggest that a degree of business naivety was displayed in the way the project has been started.
I too am cynical – that doesn’t mean I could set up my own airline, it just means that having kicked around this business for nearly 20 years I have doubts about its long term viability. Clearly, if the funding is in place as has been inferred, then others do not share the doubts myself and some others have expressed. Good for Alpha1! But Sandy, there is a world of a difference between being cynical and actually hoping that the project will fail, which I don’t think any of us would wish to see happen – I do hope Alpha1 proves myself and the other doubters wrong, but that doesn’t reduce our rights to express our opinions right now.

Good luck old chap! But I’m sure you won’t need it!

Very, very exciting times ahead, I can’t really say much more than that at the moment. We’ve just got some new investment which has not only secured the short to medium term future of the airline, but also the long term future. The first Jetstream will be delivered shortly and our first batch of pilots are preparing to go to BAe for their type rating course. The launch won’t be end of May now, but I’ll keep you updated.

I’m sure it’s a matter of weeks untill the 1st flight takes place!
By: Skymonster - 11th May 2005 at 22:03
When the launch was originally delayed, it was said on the temporary website that they’d be up and running before the end of May… Three weeks to go then!
