Alternatives to photobucket

My photobucket a/c has changed to the new ‘Beta’ layout …which is absolutely useless.
I have tried the ‘change back to original’ but nothing changes

So what alternatives are there please ??

I find http://imageshack.us/ to be a good alternative to photobucket.

Less hassle, no bandwidth restrictions.

My birthplace on photobucket:

You were born on a promenade?

How exotic. Didn’t your mum feel a little … exposed?

My PB has now gone back to the beta version also, and also cant revert back.. the button does nothing.. Question for those on Flickr: If for example i stick 20 shots from LHR up on Photobucket then i can get a link code with all 20 to paste here and elsewhere.. how do you ,or can you even, do same with Flickr?…i have an account and have been trying to do this but all i seem able to do is one single shot at a time…and the link is to the Flickr page and not just the actual image ie if i posted a pic here it would be the pic in a Flickr page, not just the pic like PB will allow??

Jetflap…it might be worth messaging Pbucket…they got back to me in less than a day (over xmas hols) and sorted the site problem for my account !

I’ll have a go at that – thanks.

I only tried photobucket relatively recently, and was offered to test the beta version. There were a few annoying moments but all in all it works for me. i have Flickr and servimg too as well as facebook, gonna be damn hard to hide from Interpol…hell no, they are all under pseudonyms, spoofed ip addresses, and public phone booth numbers so I’ll be OK! :dev2:

I can’t even log on to the new Photobucket – the page keeps flipping to the beta site and then goes blank.

I’ve had limited success posting photos onto this or other forums from Picasa or Flickr – I get a message saying the site is unable to determine the image dimensions (even if I have uploaded a reasonable 1024 pixel width).

These days I use Imageshack, whose links work but – at least with a free account – has hardly any functionality.

Thanks for the replies guys,I eventually got a reply from P bucket and the nice blue colour has been restored so have decided to continue with it for now – I do not take that many pics so the slow upload is not so bad for me.

I still use the old style Photobucket. It works well for me, and I have so many pictures on various forums,
linked to it, I’m not going to change now.

My vote goes to Flickr. It’s quick and easy to use and gets regularly fumbled by google so tagged images are easily located by anyone searching.

i think the most popular are Flickr and Picasa. Both have free or pay options depending on what you require. If I remember correctly Flickr allows up to 300Mb max upload space per month on a free account. Which if you save 1Mb size versions of each image means lots of images can be uploaded monthly. 1Mb is a good size for online viewing without losing much quality.

You can upload 2 videos per month too.

another vote for Flickr…
gave up on photobucket a while ago as it became really slow and clunky after one of its ‘upgrades’, and i also get bombarded with adverts whenever i do go there…

In another thread I asked if I could use Picasa and I’m sure it was Moggy who said I could. And Flickr, I presume…
