Alternatives to the P-8A

I’ve been reading in many articles down here in Australia about how the US are really pushing the B737MMA/P-8A as the Orion replacement, but many down here aren’t convinced that it is right for us.

What are the alternatives? Just as the Alantique was the Orions opposition, what is there to counter the P-8? Does EADS have anything on offer? Or does any other company offer anything suitable? Boeings offer can’t be the only thing on the market, surely!
