I just thought that it had enough association to avoid the trash bin.
I was privileged yesterday to be ‘flown’, with youngest grandson, in a great machine by ‘Rats’ Ratcliffe of historic aviation repute.
He admitted that it was not as fast as the Hurricane, but I noted that it had an incredible turning circle.
A winning point for the Hurricane, however, was that you do not have to exit the vehicle to turn onto reserve fuel!

What a coincidence – my name is also Tim and I too recently spent a lovely time in a 1925 Bentley – my day also had aviation connections, as I was driven to a garden party at a private strip where I was able to take the attached picture of the car alongside a rather appropriate aeroplane. All in all a rather nice day. Sorry to hijack your thread!

Very nice Tim, I saw one in Bristol the other day in Sainsbury’s petrol Station but it was dark red. Lovely sound as it pulled out. I don’t usually wish for money but seeing that made me buy a couple of lottery tickets!

……and WO also designed the BR2 rotary engine which powered the Snipe and Salamander. – Good enough for me………
Bader drove one in The Film, and many others did in real life. Except he used a cane for pushing the throttle – maybe his pre-departure checks had missed the fact that all Vintage Bentley’s have a hand throttle on the steering boss – Cruise Control, 1920’s style.

It is pretty aviation related given it probably has Hurri type magneto switches!!

Would still like to get you to ‘meet’ my Hurri cockpit!! She did some filming for the BoB Memorial Wing building! I am sure your grandson would like it too!
