AM Stores Ref question

Would one of you happen to have a copy of AP1086 and be able to look a few things up for me?

I’d like to know a little more about the following:

5C/622
5C/623
5D/551
5C/769

any info is useful. Thanks!

As a non electrical type I can only surmise…..

but I assume that the off position relates to the engraving often found on the front plate, so in other words ‘without’ means that the face plate is blank.

5C/622 – Tumbler switch, single pole, 5 amps 1 way
5C/623 – As above, 2 way with ‘off’ position
5C/769 – As above, 2 way without ‘off position
5D/551 – As above, double pole, 5 amps Type A, 2 1/4″ diameter

hope that helps

Hmmm… now what does all that mean? With off position, without off position. Guess I need to find an electrician now… any ideas of what sorts of things they were used for?

My rationale for asking is that I’m looking for appropriate switches for early Sopwith aircraft. I happen to have a couple 5C/623 and a 5D/551 and was hoping that the ‘623 would be appropriate as a mag switch.

Additionally, I thought ‘769 was the double pole one…

as always, any further info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help!
