Ok, it didn’t have wings or an engine, but it was historic and I don’t know where else to publish this.
Last night at 17:30 I was helping madam up the stables when we saw the most amazing meteorite. The place is pretty remote, 2 miles outside the village, but you can see the blight of Stansted in the distance.
As we walked across the yard towards the west, this thing appeared very high up dropping at about 45 degrees towards the north, it had a very fiery red tail and turned into a green red tinged fireball about the size of the moon until finally exploding into red fragments just above the horizon.
Having not seen anything like it before, she was insistant that it was a firework, some bloody firework I have to say, however I have seen meteorites before like this but not so impressive, I’ve had the p### taken out of me about it all day, but I did check on the net and found out that not only are we subject to the normal Pleaidies meteor shower, are close to a big asteroid, but are feeling the affects of the tail of Halleys comet.
Did anyone else see anything last night. I’ve just been lying on the front steps for half an hour but seen nothing and it’s bloody cold as well.
Over to you.

I’ll just take the bandages off my eyes and have a look, funny, it’s very quiet around here, all I can hear are rustling and slapping noises, and my face stings like hell.
Ah, you drink Stone’s Bitter as well then?

Possibly have a been a remnant of the Orionid meteor shower (which peaked last week)? The Leonids aren’t due to start for a few days yet. There’s also the Taurid Shower which lasts most of this month.
