Amazing story from WW I… worth a read for sure !

While not a aviation story per say..but a remarkable find from WW I. A British Army Capt captured by the Germans was allowed by them to go visit his sick monther and on a promise …returned to the Germans ! He served in WW II as well. Nice bit of history discovered. I have to salute the editors of The Daily Mail, who continue to devote space & resoruces to stories about the Second World War. Great story and the amazing fact is that the good Capt returned to the Germans to served out his POW situation.

A man of his word for sure…. great work in finding this story. How many more are out there ?????

Two threads on the same Daily Heil story – is this a record? Bit it’s a good story first published elsewhere about two weeks ago and simply lifted by the Heil.
