With the impending retirement of the Hellenic Air Force A-7 Corsair II fleet (which I believe consists of A-7E’s & TA-7C’s at this point), I thought it might be fun to see what we can collectively come up with for this long service attack aircraft. I’m not sure what it is about the A-7, but I’ve always liked it. It has a certain brutish charm to it…it’s not pretty but its functional looking to me. (Like the A-10 I suppose.)
First off a USAF A-7D dropping Mk-82 Snakeyes…always loved this photo.
Secondly, here is a photo of a Hellenic A-7 with some of the weapons that were at one point in time or another cleared for the type.
