Amazing what can be found

Just a few parts that were found while out for a walkon an abandoned airfield …..

The two black pieces of persepx are interesting, remains of smaller windows or the H2s blister? Also there are a couple of pieces of plexi with a coating of sorts almost like a varnish or glue. I am wondering if this could be left over from when the Mr Lancs had their front turrets and rear turrets covered over?? I also think there is a small piece of Anson here as well judging by the light color green?

Hello Elliot.
It is only one part. It is the one that you can see in the fourth picture.

Why don’t you aks Ross McNeil to help ID those Anson parts – he must know them quite well.

I am amazed that there are still parts to be found in the fields.

No not halifax. I am thinking Anson. They are from an airfield in canada that saw extensive scrapping postwar.

Interesting finds, Peter!

On which airfield were they found? Are the parts from crash(es), or were aircraft scrapped there?

The aluminium part with the numbers (61672 2) could it be from a Halifax?

Thanks for posting these!

Jason
