Here’s a few pix of the visitors that were there in mid-afternoon (yes, I had to cook Sunday lunch and do the washing-up again). Please note that the Spartan appears to have speared a low flying chicken.

I must confess to never having watched ‘HotShots’ so I’m not familiar with the scene you’re relating to. Thought you might appreciate a close-up of unfortunate chick, plus the grin on the face of the Navion parked alongside.

Maybe the Spatrtan is trying to emulate Charlie (HotShots) Sheene, or keep up with “Spitting Image”.

Nick- it’s a Waco UPS- 7 , which is based at Little Gransden , as is the Spartan. LG is about 20 minutes flying time away, and aircraft from there are quite a familiar sight at Panshanger.
