I think you’re exaggerating as much as the media now, really, thousands of them everyday?
Infact the BBC’s reporting on it is nowhere near the usual sensationalism of others, no mention of near misses with schools/hospitals, no mention of 300 people seconds from death…
OK 20-30 a day.
I agree they aint pulling it out of proportion but they are making it sound bad.

Two tires burst why make it out like all engines failed Hydrolic Power was lost to all the key parts of the plane(laning gear,Flaps, rudder). Thousands of emergncy landing’s happen every day around the world why make this one sound worst than it is.

I was there, and this incident caused the closure of the airport for pretty much 2 hours! It had terrible knock on effects for flights – luckily mine was not one of them, however BA suffered alot! One flight was around 7 hours behind and another 3 or so.
Shall have pics tomorrow, too tired right now – its been a loooooong day.

….and I am incredibly annoyed that I wasnt at work today. And thats coming from someone who doesn’t like how and why the media publishes these news non events.
Foam was discharged onto the undercarriage because of hot brakes (not 100% sure thats true, though).
