Boeing with all American airlines are feeling the heat of this situation. Boeing is slashing a horrifying 30% jobs, that is 33,000 people jobless. I have heard some airlines are near bankrupt and are asking for financial aid from the US government? Northwest is slashing jobs, so is US Air and American? Can any one shine a light on this issue.

RE: American airlines feel the heat.
All I’ve heard confirmed so far is that Continental are cutting it’s workforce by 12000, and that CO, UA and NW are each cancelling about 20% of their flights.
In Britain, Virgin yesterday announced 1200 redundancies, and they’ll be parking all their 747-200’s.
