American Airlines – Luxury Jet/Liner

Evening all,

A random question I know but is there any particular reason AA removed the ‘Luxury’ titles from I believe just their A300/B757/B767 etc aircraft?

*A300 – http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=502469
*B757 – http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5782839
*B767 – http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6271315

I believe it was also on other now retired types such as the DC-10/B727 etc.

Cheers,

Tom

It’s been gone for a number of years (more like 10+) on the majority of the fleet. Probably just done as a cost saving measure.

Have you ever flown AA business class??

Many times. Of the current generation of lie flat seats it is one of the worst configurations possible, the staff are usually dreadful and the food service is mediocre on a good day. The even more worrying thing is that food and service are identical between First and Business Class.

That said I will continue to fly AA in all their 3 classes over the next 6 months, almost entirely down to the ridiculous ease with which it is possible to access the Premium cabins and because of the generousness of the AAdantage programme.

Exactly, the Advertising Standards Authority got hold of them and forced them to change such an obviously misleading title! :diablo:

perhaps they’ve reconfigured the cabin layout to a less luxurious layout and feel Luxury liner isn’t an accurate description anymore…..

Seriously I don’t think they have had it on their aircraft for about five years now but you can still see the outline on the a lot of the 767’s Don’t know why though.
