American Airlines Service

Hi all, just a few questions. As you can see in my signature I have a rather interesting trip coming up in a couple of weeks. Just wanting to know what to expect?

I know the 777’s have PTV’s, whereas the rest don’t. But in general, what do you think of AA? (obviously applying to anyone that has experienced them personally). Just wanting ideas about food etc. Shame that the 767’s and 757’s don’t have PTV’s, but are they ok to fly on in general?

EK, you say the 767 was ‘economy but felt like first class’. That good? Mind you, I suppose the transatlantic 767’s will be kitted out better than the intercontinental ones….

IMO best airline about today and of all time, I would fly GLA-ORD-GLA in one day just to get the AA service again 😀

A transatlantic flight is an intercontinental service. (Between the continents of Europe and North America).

Within the same country it is a domestic service! 😉

My uncle who lived in NYC always flew AA over to the UK and never complained so things should be alright.

Thanks very much for the information so far! Looking forward to the 777 flights even more now! Yup I was thinking that the intercontinental flights may not be brilliant, similar to when I flew Delta a couple of years back. I’m hoping they aren’t packed though. DL 767 from ATL-MIA wasn’t the best experience and that was only 2 hours. Completely full, stuck in the middle surrounded by American business men/women in a fluster with all their important work.

If that’s anything to go by on the AA flights, then I’ll just use the oppurtunity to stick my headphones on and revise for my Spanish oral exams I have coming up next month. Shame about no meal service on intercontinental, but I’ll just take as much advantage as I can with the complimentary drinks.

They are ok. US intercontinental flights, like on any US airline, suck (you must buy everything, as you just get a package or pretzels and a soft drink or something like that), as for the rest, nothing to complain about… The PTV thing is indeed a pity.

JFK isn’t the best airport I went to. It is, for some parts, quite old. LAX I don’t know.
