American "Stringer" lengths wanted

Hi,

We are busy restoring a Douglas A-26 invader cockpit (ex booker), can anyone help sourcing or has anyone got any US aircraft stringer extrusion available please.

If anyone can assist please PM me, a source in this country would be great as I have found customs to be very unforgiving!

4 + meters would be ideal.

Thanks

Dan

Hi, unfortunately not, the wheel well was extremely corroded beyond I suspect the repair manual, but as we now roll her over to restore the better preserved upper section then these would be very useful. I have also been after the illustrated parts catalogue but without a lot of success which is surprising. We are restoring her as an A-26 not a B-26. If you can point me in the right direction for any of the manuals please PM me.

Redhill Wings, I get the impression from your initial post that you do not have an A-26 Structural Repair Manual. Do you have a full set of A-26 manuals for your restoration? They make things alot easier. I am refering to;
Illustrated Parts Catalog
Erection & Maintenance Manual
Structural Repair Manual

You could ask

http://www.premier-metals.com/?medium=ppc&gclid=CLqbo5elhrUCFUbKtAod3BcArg

Try downloading their catalogue, you might strike lucky with off cuts.

Thanks for the part numbers, I guess the other sections are most likely “Douglas Aviation” as well?

Has anyone been down the route of having a custom extrusion made? I should imagine there would be few if any companies willing to do with such a low quantity?

The ‘L’ section bulb angle part number for those dimensions (for a flat attach flange) is:
Douglas S1047299, Alcoa Die No K15644
If the flange is convex (1/64th from flat), the numbers will be:
Douglas S1059652, Alcoa Die No L24127

Fair point! more info attached, as you will see there are also a couple of extrusion sections required for the project. The final scan shows dimensions in cm. Hope this helps, if anyone can help please get in touch.

You are going to have to be a little more specfic on the size, thickness and shape of the required extrusion(s)…:)
