dark light

Ams, 18/10/2003

Spend a great day at Schiphol last Saturday. The day was beautiful with lots of sun and a blue sky almost the whole day! Since the wind came from the NE runway 06/24 (Kaagbaan) was in use for landings.

I decided to stand just outside the fence to catch some planes on final approach. Had no problem with the police at all (BAA, for once… just take the hint). Some people where sent of though as they had their car parked near the fence.

If you are going here by car, I advise you to park at the nearby Mac Donalds/Bastion Hotel. From there it is a mere 5 minutes walk to the beginning of the runway. This spot is also accesable by bus!

I’ll post links to my pics at JP.net. That’s faster than resizing everything to fit on this board.

One of only 2 remaining Transavia 757-200s. They are on their way out, so if you want to get a pic of it you should go to Amsterdam fast!

Also on their way out are KLM’s MD-11s. As much as I like the A330, I really will miss this beauty.

And yet another one that is on its way out. Northwest’s DC-10 will also be replaced by A330’s.

Although the plane is here to stay, the livery will be gone soon.

This one is definately here to stay for quite a few years to come. One of Continental’s new B767-400s. Note the raked wingtips!

The Queens private little toy. She was probably even on board! Coming back from her Italian holiday.

Martinair is still flying around with their “Fox Kids Network” livery. I am not quite sure which is more childish, the plane’s livery of the TV channel. I really dislike this livery.

Does anyone know what will happen with Crossair Europe now that it has been taken over by Swiss? Will it remain as a Swiss subsidiary, or will it be disposed of.

Note the special label on the forward fuselage. It is for some racing event, I am not sure but I believe it was the Indy 400.

The best livery change in years. I hated the old livery (too dark for my liking), but this is great!

I am not too impressed with this livery. I know… its not that bad… but look at what it is replacing! The old one was better!
