AMS-TFS 1st July TRA

Ok guys here is the first part of my trip containing the flight to Tenerife with Transavia using a Boeing 737-800WL Reg. PH-HZI. Dep time was about 15:20 with an flight time of around 4:30 hour because we had some headwind. Arriving around 1840 (-1 timezone). Overall this flight went pretty well, friendly crew and nice stewardessen MUCH better then girls we had druring our March trip to Lanzarote wich the crew was only male.

Departing gate was D47 with a LEKKO DEP on the 09. Due to the amount of aircraft on the ground we had to wait 10 mins. (jup it’s schiphol). I think the loadfactor was about 65-70% so it was not a ”full house”. Because the flight was in the afternoon the crew was friendly anough to invite me in the cockpit, some nice guys this time. I already looked up the winds and told them we would most likely depart from runway 09 because the winds were comming from the east. They believed me wrote it down and asked the IFR clearence at delivery, and it was 09 on LEKKO sqauwk 3134. Then it was time for some more chatting and waiting for some passengers. We talked a little about aviation in general how it was on my school and some other stuff. Enough talking time for some shots.

The workingdesk, while the pilots do the last checks, as you can see we were going to do 6000ft on heading 060 after take-off. Route was in the FMC, but they didn’t had the weight and balance sheet so we had a little chat.

Flightlevel for this flight was directly to FL390, Most likely Brussels didn’t mind taking us to that flightlevel also using the North to South rule (REMEMBER GUYS).

After that it was time to head back to my chair wich was somewhere at row 23 or 24 on the left and side. Cleared for the push and start.

All complete, crew did their funny ritual with their box of funny items like some kind of yellow vest whatever. If we make a landing on the sea WE ALL DIE!. Quite a cool-down feeling that gives isn’t it passengers? Anyways on our way to 09 we passed the E-F and empty G piers.

In about 30 minutes we were flying above Paris CDG, it was a little hazy but this is the best I got.

Then it was time for an 1:30 hour flight above the atlantic towards the Canary Islands. After a quick blue sea we were on the KONBA1G STAR for an ILS app runway 08. On Tenerife you have the Hotel and Golf arrivals the Hotel is all the way around the island and Golf is straight in. We luckily had the Hotel arrival so it was time for some nice sightseeing. In the back you can see the highest mountain in the whole of Spain reaching the clouds with an height of 3714m. Temperature today was around 28 degrees celcius.

Yup preparation is key!!

What a great view! This is the north side of the island as you can clearly see. Most of the time the clouds keep trapped between the mountains clearly vissible on this picture. That’s also the reason why the KLM and the Pan Am aircraft crashed on the ground during heavy weather conditions.

Here we are on finals for runway 08 with in the background the mountains and vulcanoes.

We vacated at exit B4 onto Tango there after we were on taxiway D4 to enter gate F6. (Chart are fun onboard TIP). No need to visit the cockpit because i’ve seen it before. Quick deboarding and then it was off the the bus for a half an hour bus ride to our place.

The dining thing was just a yoke. They don’t even serve desent food. Concerning the turbulence, I trusted the pilot that it will be a peacefull flight. Otherwise I still had my lifesaving reaction.;)

Great pictures and story!

There are some issues concerning your choice of in-flight dining, though.

A little turbulence could dislodge your lens from its ‘stowage’ too!
